Northeast Regional Biomass Program

Bioenergy Technology Selection Matrix

October 2007

The National Biomass Partnership has developed a bioenergy technology selection matrix designed to provide users a quick method to conduct a preliminary selection of technologies for specific bioenergy applications and to provide clarity and direction to potential bioenergy users.

The technology matrix is an online summary of the different types of biomass conversion technologies as these technologies relate to the feedstocks appropriate for them, the end products produced by them, and the commercial availability of the technologies.  The Technology Matrix can be found at www.nrbp.org/bioenergy.

The National Biomass Partnership (Partnership) is a union of five long-standing regional biomass energy programs, four governors’ organizations, and the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO).  It encompasses all 50 states, two U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.
